We ended this week with another great celebration in K2AvS. Thank you to Ms Mel for organising an Easter celebration in our class, and to Ms Shimret, Ms Angela, Ms Francesca, Ms Yuli, Ms Sumali and Ms Sneha for an absolute fantastic Easter celebration! We enjoyed making beautiful little Easter baskets and headbands, and yes of course our favourite time of the week - cooking in the kitchen. That was all just the perfect ending to a fun "Spirit Day" where we dressed up and thought about our future careers. We had teachers, doctors, nurses, recycle scientists, vets, policemen, rugby players, archeologists, firemen, singers, soldiers, and each student could give a reason why they wanted to follow that career.
Thank you to Ms Carolyn and Matias for being our Mystery Readers this week. We really enjoyed the stories about the 5 Chinese brothers, and then of course Ms V's favourite - Fish is Fish.
We were inspired by the artist Mondrian while learning about Shapes and Space in Maths. We could recognise the squares and rectangles that this piece of art shows so clearly, and then decided to do our very own "Mondrian paintings".
Planning our Mondrian paintings with columns, lines, squares and rectangles.
Discovery time in literacy this week was especially rewarding as we had a very special visitor in class. Thank you Mrs White for coming in to work with us and help us understand more about word building and editing in our writing.
Why do animals live where they do? Having great discussions, wondering about the animal world and doing research during discovery time.
Have a lovely weekend and looking forward to seeing all of you at the Family Day tomorrow!
