Week 15

What an exciting week! It is good to just stand still for a little while in our busy lives and share what we are thankful for - I am thankful for these great students in K2AvS and their amazing parents who support us in our journey of learning and discovery!

Two friends from each class were invited to visit the UWCSEA recycle centre. Thank you to Anika and Sam for coming back to class and sharing new information about Reuse, Reduce, Refuse and Recycle at school. It all looks so interesting, that we decided to go on a K2AvS walk to the recycle centre here at school to explore and find out more about where the rubbish goes when it leaves our classroom.

Watch this space for pictures of our visit next week!

Thank you to our parents for coming to school on Wednesday morning to share our learning, help us set goals for the rest of the year, and for having a little glimpse in what a day in our school life could look like.

We always enjoy learning more about special holidays, and the meaning there of.  Thursday we were very excited when we could learn more about Thanksgiving with our buddies from Grade 1BeM. A very special thank you to Ms Angela (Hana and Noah's mom) for organising this lovely Thanksgiving lunch and activities. A HUGE thank you to all the Grade 1BeM and K2AvS parents for cooking, serving and treating us, and to Ms Nora for the beautiful decorated tables.

Finally the busy week ends with an exciting time in the kitchen. Thank you to Ms Sneha (Dhruv's mom) and Ms Mel (Freddie's mom) for helping us make delicious pizzas. YUMMY!

Notes and Reminders:

Please mark your calendars! We will perform in the UN Day performance next Thursday, 3rd December from 12:30 - 1:20. Our class will be on the choir risers in the centre right, so please keep that in mind when you choose your seats. That day, the children are asked to dress in clothes from a country that is important to them and bring an empty container and cutlery to take to the Food Festival. Please label the containers with your child's name. We look forward to seeing you next week!

Have a wonderful, relaxing weekend!
